Stay secure with Xynomix and Oracle

Oracle have released their latest Critical Patch Update (CPU) which contains 252 new security fixes across a wide range of product families including: Oracle Database Server, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Hyperion, Oracle Industry Applications (Communications, Health Sciences, Construction, Financial Services, Retail, and Hospitality), Oracle Sun Products, Oracle Java SE and Oracle MySQL. In particular, this update addresses extremely severe bugs found within Oracle's Hospitality Applications, Siebel CRM solution and PeopleSoft HR software.

For a full list of affected products and components, please see Oracle’s announcement here: Oracle Critical Patch Update October 2017

They recommend that all customers administer this security update as soon as possible. In line with the messaging from Oracle, we would strongly advise that our clients apply Critical Patch Updates immediately to ensure the optimisation of their products and continued security against malicious attacks. However, there’s always a chance that a change you make to the database could affect the operation of your business-critical applications that rely on the database.
