Oracle database environments are often complex, with multiple applications and other third-party products integrated into the overall infrastructure. Poor database function can cost money through slow, unreliable performance and reduced user productivity.

Finding the root of a particular performance problem can be time-consuming and incredibly complex. That's where the our Oracle monitoring and tuning services come in. Need performance monitoring and tuning for Microsoft SQL Server databases? Find out more here.

Oracle database monitoring

We understand that reliability, high availability and performance of mission-critical Oracle database systems are vital to your business continuity. Our Oracle database monitoring covers every hour of the day, all year, and can guard against the downtime of critical applications, servers or data.

These database performance monitoring solutions provide complete visibility of performance and can alert database administrators (DBAs) and system administrators to potential issues before they become apparent to your end-users. We'll update you on what can and should be done, and with your permission, implement the changes.

Our own specialised tools

We use our proprietary software called RDAP - Remote Diagnostics and Planning  - which can monitor your Oracle database on site or remotely. As RDAP is database monitoring software we've developed ourselves, we're able to freely modify it to suit the specialised needs of your company - another example of how our bespoke service makes Xynomix different to other database monitoring providers. RDAP offers:

  • real-time Oracle monitoring, for database availability, performance and compliance with SLAsxynomix RDAP logo.png
  • instant support, up to 24×7×365
  • continuous Oracle Health Checks
  • real-time alerts and reports for your database KPIs
  • trend reporting
  • SLA-led support
  • database cluster monitoring
  • Oracle database monitoring unique to your system

Oracle database performance tuning

Once a performance issue has been detected, either through an Oracle health check, real-time monitoring, or reported by you (as a new client), we'll set about addressing it immediately.

The Xynomix database consultants have the skills and expertise to identify any problem quickly. This is often carried out by dialling-in remotely, so as well as being quick, it isn't costly. As part of the service, we'll ensure that your system performs at its best through various Oracle performance tuning techniques.

Generally, Oracle performance issues are related to either (or one of) two areas: the back-end infrastructure such as disks, or in the code of the front-end application that uses the database. We'll work with your application providers on your behalf to identify and solve problems.

Oracle application performance monitoring

We're also able to licence lightweight Oracle software that monitors the performance of the applications that use your database, which is of particular use for developers or those with customer-facing web applications. For more detail, please see our Oracle Cloud Application Performance Monitoring page.
