The expansion of the team will enable the business to undertake more clients and thus mature their existing client base. Xynomix will use this development to provide further professional managed services for Oracle and SQL Server Databases or Unix/Linux Operating Systems.

Says Xynomix Technical Director, Dave Noble: “We are really excited about the recent additions to our team. We are receiving new interest on a more frequent basis, so this development will help to continue our business running smoothly and efficiently”.

This is not the first time Xynomix have recruited a significant number of new employee’s. The company has been growing its staff considerably for the past four years and it doesn’t look to be stopping as Xynomix’s reputation spreads.

In the first year of sponsorship, the Xynomix logo was emblazoned on players’ shirts and helmets. Four years on, a new sponsorship deal has been agreed that sees Xynomix take on a more aptly technical role as sponsors of the official Panthers Radio channel.

Sponsorship of the Panthers is just one of the ways in which Xynomix contributes locally. Other recent projects include participation in the Erewash Triathlon 2009 to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis, and the implementation of a cycle to work scheme that has seen over 50% of employees switch from petrol to pedal power in a matter of months.

A number of us here are ice hockey fans. The Panthers are a great team and give the people of Nottingham, young and old, the opportunity to see some fantastic ice hockey”

The Panthers have an impressive recent history, winning the 2006/2007 Playoff Championships and the Challenge Cup in 2007/2008.

Having finished joint second in the Elite League last season, Xynomix and other Panthers fans alike are hoping for another very successful run of form from the team in 2009/2010. Whilst there may be some way to go to the end of the season, the Panthers already occupy top spot of the EIHL table and look likely to build on last year’s success.

Xynomix aim to continue their relationship with the Nottingham Panthers for years to come.

The database experts have cemented their dedication to environmental responsibility by exceeding the 50% target for employees cycling or walking to work set at the beginning of 2009. A recent examination has revealed that over 50% of the employees at Nottingham-based company cycle or walk to work at least three times a week.

Xynomix have implemented a series of measures to encourage a company-wide effort to leave the car at home. Steps taken include the installation of racks and security fencing for bicycles, and the distribution of information on ‘Cyclescheme’ and other ‘Cycle to Work’ initiatives.

Cyclists and walkers also have access to a brand new shower suite, with shower gels and shampoos provided to employees.

Says Xynomix’ Managing Director, Andy Elcock: “Businesses need to start thinking seriously about their environmental stance. Our Cycle to Work scheme is just one of a number of measures that we take to improve the health and happiness of employees, and reduce the impact that we have on the environment as an organisation”

It is estimated that each employee saves an average of £35 per week by cycling or walking to and from the office.

Says Xynomix Marketing Executive, Jules Pedersen: “Cycling 10 miles to work and back every day saves me significant amounts in petrol and I don’t need a gym membership anymore! However, all of us cyclists and walkers agree that, whilst we save money, we also feel healthier and have a more positive frame of mind. I think that is priceless”
