Database experts Xynomix have expanded their skill set and service offerings to include database support, management solutions and remote managed services for Microsoft SQL Server as well as Oracle.
Traditionally Oracle-focused, Xynomix have specialised in the provision of Oracle Services since the company’s conception in 2002. They now provide full Oracle support and management for over 100 clients throughout the UK and deliver a number of other Oracle-related services to hundreds more throughout the UK.
However, according to Sales Director Stephen Wigglesworth, the number of organisations running Oracle and SQL Server databases within the same IT infrastructure is increasing. He explains of the company’s decision to support SQL Server: “we have always provided SQL Server support as a peripheral offering to our existing Oracle base. However, following a recent increase in demand, we have decided to formalise and market the offering as an integral part of our services portfolio”
Xynomix’ decision to expand their services portfolio to include Microsoft SQL Server database supports the belief that both SQL Server and Oracle are increasing in popularity as enterprise class database solutions. The company expects to equal the size of its Oracle user customer base in the SQL Server sphere within the next two years and plan to take on further internal staff to fulfil demand.
